The comprehensive Lung Cancer Program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, the state's only comprehensive cancer center, sees more than 400 new patients a year who have a diagnosis of lung cancer. Patients are seen in a variety of settings within the Lung Cancer Program, including a multidisciplinary clinic that is staffed by specialists from medical oncology, thoracic surgical oncology, and radiation oncology.

Our lung cancer specialists may recommend standard treatments as well as those unique to our center. In addition, the Carbone Cancer Center is a world leader in lung cancer research. We are active nationally in the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, through which we participate in national multi-center clinical trials that are funded by the National Cancer Institute. Our center also offers clinical trials that are that are funded directly by the NCI or industry sponsors, which are often unique to our cancer center.
