The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, the state's only comprehensive cancer center, has the largest Gynecologic Oncology department in Wisconsin, offering patients state-of-the-art care in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancer.

 

Our gynecologic oncologists see patients with common as well as rare gynecologic cancers including: 

Gynecologic Cancer Care at UW Carbone Cancer Center

 

Patients diagnosed with any of these gynecologic cancers are seen in our multidisciplinary clinic by our team of gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetic counselors and health psychologists.

 

Each patient is evaluated and treatment is individually tailored to each patient's needs. In addition to treatment, the UW Carbone Cancer Center is committed to improving a woman's quality of life and minimizing side effects while she undergoes therapy.

 

Gynecologic Cancer Patients at the UW Carbone Cancer Center have access to:

  • A team of specialists including physicians in gynecologic oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical pathology and palliative care
  • A multidisciplinary treatment approach in which physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, psychologists, administrative support staff, research personnel, and genetic counselors help patients with all aspects of their cancer journey
  • Cutting-edge research is focused on the early detection of ovarian cancer and finding ways to manipulate the immune system to fight cancer
  • Groundbreaking clinical trials aimed at improving survival rates
  • Surgeons with years of additional training who perform state-of-theart surgery, including robotic surgery
  • Physicians who train future gynecologic cancer specialists in one of only 40 fellowship training programs in the U.S.
