UW Carbone Cancer Center - For Researchers
The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is committed to leading-edge research to provide better treatment and ultimately, cures for cancer. With an emphasis on cancer research, the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR) at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (UW-SMPH) in Madison is designed to allow researchers to work with scientists from other disciplines, speeding the transfer of science to patients. In addition, the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, an integral part of the UWCCC, is dedicated to cancer research and conducts some of the most innovative research in this field.
The UW Carbone Cancer Center members participate in and have access to Scientific Programs, Disease-Oriented Working Groups/Clinical Research Groups, Shared Resources, and translational support services such as the Office of Translational Research Services and the Translational Imaging Research Working Group.

Transgenic and Mutant Animal Facility
Transgenic and genetically-engineered mutant animals provide one of the most valuable mechanisms for generating in vivo models for unraveling the molecular and genetic mechanisms of cancer, and for evaluating new strategies for treatment and prevention studies. Anne Griep, PhD (pictured left) is the faculty leader.
