Alexandra Adams, MD, PhD

Principal Investigator

 

Dr. Adams is Director of the UW Collaborative Center for Health Equity and Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine.  She has conducted health disparity research for over 10 years, with a focus on prevention of obesity and related chronic diseases using a community-based participatory research approach.  Dr. Adams has ongoing collaborations with multiple American Indian partners across the state.

 

Rick Strickland, MA

Co-Director for Outreach

Mr. Strickland directs CHDI's outreach efforts.  He is also Outreach Director for UW Spirit of EAGLES, a Community Networks Program funded by NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities. Mr. Strickland brings over 25 years of organizing and community development experience to CHDI, including health promotion with underserved communities.

 

Amy Williamson, MPP

Co-Director for Research Program Development

In addition to leading program development efforts, Ms. Williamson is a researcher within UW Carbone Cancer Center's (UWCCC) Cancer Control and Outreach Department focusing on cancer disparities, health care access, and tobacco control. She has over fifteen years of experience conducting and managing cancer control, health policy, and health services research and has been a research consultant to community health programs.  Ms. Williamson also serves as UWCCC's Assistant Director of Population Sciences.

Outreach and Education Associate

 

Ms. Bailey directs outreach and education initiatives working with underserved communities in the Madison and Dane County areas. She has experience working with culturally competent intervention and education projects in the local community as well as being a patient navigator.

 

Rebecca Linskens, MA

Community Health Educator
 
Ms. Linskens leads outreach activities as part of CHDI's Rural Cancer Disparities Project.  She has experience in patient navigation and served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador where she conducted health promotion within a rural indigenous community.
