The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) Cell Signaling (CS) Scientific Program has a mission to build a comprehensive integrated understanding of the regulatory molecular pathways that are used or dysregulated in different types of human malignancies. These pathways could be targeted to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis and therapy.

The research efforts of CS members address common scientific interest areas, including hormonally controlled cancer types (breast, prostate, thyroid) and related steroid receptor signaling; DNA damage response to various genotoxic agents; stem cell and cancer progenitor signaling; and pathogenesis and drug resistance in blood cancer types (myeloma, lymphoma, leukemia).
