Audience
Experienced adult nurses.
Course Content
The course emphasizes palliative symptom management and identifies the unique nursing role of collaborating with the palliative care team while partnering with the patient and family.
Topics include:
- Ethical and legal issues in palliative care
- Spiritual assessment throughout the life span
- Pain management
- Comfort care in the final days
Purpose
This course is designed to educate experienced nurses in the art and science of providing palliative care and caring for dying patients and their families.
