University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, the state's only comprehensive cancer center, patients with cancer of the esophagus are seen in our multidisciplinary clinic by a team of healthcare providers who specialize in esophageal cancer. Our team includes thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.
The Carbone Cancer Center was one of the first facilities in the country to use PET scans for planning treatment for esophageal cancer. We are one of only seven centers in the U.S. performing minimally invasive surgery for the removal of the esophagus. When surgery is not an option, our specialists offer a variety of other therapies to provide the best possible care to our patients.
