Breast Center

The Breast Center is committed to the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast disease through compassionate and coordinated care. The care offered by UW Health physicians in our Breast Center is frequently rated among the nation's best.

These specialists will work with you to develop your own individualized plan of care. Our Breast Center incorporates outstanding nursing, radiology, pathology, mammography, imaging, social work, psychology, genetic counseling, physical and occupational therapy and nutrition consultation.

At the 600 Highland Ave. Breast Center, you will have access to medical experts from both UW Hospital and Clinics and the UW Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC). The Breast Center, being a part of the UWCCC, offers you leading-edge cancer diagnosis and treatment. The designation of Comprehensive Cancer Center is one that is selectively bestowed only by the National Cancer Institute. UWCCC is the only one in the state of Wisconsin and one of only a few nationwide.

UWCCC researchers and clinicians have pioneered numerous breast cancer therapies, among them combination chemotherapy for advance cases and use of the drug Tamoxifen to prevent cancer from recurring in post-menopausal women.

The wide range of services offered at the Breast Center includes Digital Mammography as well as other diagnostic and screening mammograms, breast exams, risk assessment, consultations and biopsies.

Breast Care Services at 1 S. Park

At our 1 S. Park Breast Care Services Center you will also have access to medical experts in medical imaging, general surgery and oncology from UW Health and UW Medical School faculty. Our program is designed to help women with breast health concerns, to promote continued improvement of patient care and to assist women through education and support.

The 1 S. Park Breast Care Services manager is available to help women schedule diagnostic mammograms, surgical evaluation appointments and biopsies at our 1 S. Park Clinic. She also facilitates communication between the patient, primary care provider, radiologist and general surgeon.
