Sports Medicine Classic chairman Andy NorthUW Health's Sports Medicine Classic is a daylong golf clinic and tournament that benefits sports medicine research at the University of Wisconsin.

Madison's Andy North serves as the honorary chair and host the Classic. A two-time U.S. Open champion and former PGA Tour professional, Andy is gracious enough to take time from his busy ESPN broadcast schedule and the Champions Tour to support this cause.

Funds derived from participant sponsorship are distributed to prospective researchers under the direction of the Sports Medicine Center's Grant Application Review Committee. After grant applications are submitted, recommendations are made regarding whether or not the proposal is funded or needs to be revised prior to acceptance.

Sports Medicine Classic participant with Andy North"This is a great day for the participants, for the UW Hospital and Clinics and for sports medicine research," says Classic coordinator Shari Khaja.

The loyal support of our sponsors has consistently exceeded our expectations. The energy, enthusiasm and teamwork of the staff make this a special event. A very special thanks to Andy North, whose generosity and good nature sets the pace for all to follow.
