Stroke Prevention Exercise Program (S-PEP) Using the Weekly Workout Log

The Comprehensive Stroke and Rehabilitation Services programs at UW Hospital and Clinics have partnered to create a special exercise program for people who have had strokes. The Stroke Prevention Exercise Program or "S-PEP" has been designed to give you safe and fun exercise options to help prevent new strokes.

 

Soon after cooling down, record your workout on the Weekly Workout Log (pdf). By keeping track, you can remind yourself what workouts you have done that week. You can also see progress you are making such as exercising more days each week, exercising for a longer length of time, and having more energy.

  1. Record the date of your workout.
  2. Record the type of workout you did (walking, biking, swimming, etc.).
  3. Record how long you exercised. Do not count the time spent warming up, cooling down, and stretching.
  4. Use a 10-point scale to record the level of energy you felt before your workout.
