Direct Access

UW Health Sports Medicine's Sports Rehabilitation now offers direct access to licensed physical therapists without the need of a physician referral.

The Sports Rehabilitation team treats competitive to recreational athletes of all ages and skill levels. They have extensive training and specialize in evaluating and treating sports injuries and conditions.

Treatment

Treatment starts with a comprehensive physical evaluation and detailed assessment. The Sports Rehabilitation staff focuses on treating your current symptoms as well as the factors that may have precipitated your injury or condition. They then design a rehabilitation program to fit your specific needs.

Services

Evaluation and treatment of acute sports related injuries or pain that has occurred from training or is preventing training including:

• Knee ligament injuries
• Rotator cuff injuries
• Plantar fasciitis
• Patellofemoral stress syndrome
• Tennis elbow
• Ankle sprains and Achilles tendonitis
• Muscle strains

Medical Records

Your physical therapy reports will be entered into your medical records. You will be referred to a physician if it is determined that your condition requires further evaluation.
