Soccer goalieSince 1982, UW Health Sports Medicine in Madison, Wisconsin has been providing comprehensive sports medicine care including athletic training directly to athletes at area high schools and small colleges through the Athletic Training Outreach Program.

A staff of athletic trainers under the supervision of UW Health Sports Medicine physicians provides medical coverage to high schools on a bi-weekly or daily basis.

In addition to in-clinic services, athletic trainers in the Outreach Program also offer their services to athletic organizations throughout southcentral Wisconsin. Our experts can help ensure that your tournament, camp or large-scale athletic event is safe and enjoyable.

Philosophy

The philosophy of the Athletic Training Outreach Program is to provide the best possible health care to the athletes of the educational institutions enrolled in the program. To that end, we strive to employ highly qualified licensed athletic trainers (LATs) that are experienced and knowledgeable professionals.

The outreach program believes that the health of the athlete is more important than the expectations of participation in the sport by the coach, parent or athlete. The outreach program will not discriminate, nor accept discrimination, based on sex, race, color, creed or athletic ability.
