Sports Rehabilitation

UW Health Sports Medicine's staff of physical therapists and athletic trainers is skilled in rehabilitating orthopedic injuries sustained by competitive and recreational athletes.

Learn about our self-referral program

Our treatment regimen begins with a comprehensive physical evaluation and a detailed assessment of your injury. You will work with a physical therapist and athletic trainer who will design a rehabilitation program to fit your specific needs and goals.

In addition to the rehabilitation program we develop, your treatment program will include exercises to help you reduce the likelihood for re-injury when you resume your favorite sport.

This Month in Sports Rehabilitation: Youth Swimming

Young competitive swimmers may complete as many as 16,000 shoulder revolutions in a one-week period during practice, putting them at risk for shoulder "overuse" injuries.

To promote injury prevention for swimmers and discuss proper freestyle swimming mechanics and common stroke faults, UW Health Sports Rehabilitation swim experts are hosting a free seminar for area youth swimmers ages 9-18 years old on Feb. 13.
