UW Hospital and Clinics Employee Services
Child Care
UW Hospital and Clinics recognizes the difficulties of balancing the demands of work and family life. As an employer of choice, UW Hospital and Clinics strives to enhance the work life balance of its employees. As a working parent, you'll be pleased to know that UW Hospital and Clinics offers its employees infant and toddler child care.
The hospital has partnered with community organizations to create the UW Hospital Great Beginnings Day Care Center, providing quality day care for UW Hospital and Clinics employees and the community.
Dane County Parent Council operates the program according to its high standards for quality of staff, facilities and family-centered care. They specialize in caring for children from 6 weeks to 3 years of age; and Great Beginnings gives priority registration to UW Hospital and Clinics employees.

Lactation Rooms
As an Employer of Choice initiative, UW Hospital and Clinics has undertaken the development or enhancement of various family friendly employee programs. Our most recent addition of UW Hospital lactation spaces allows us to provide even more convenient locations and options for nursing mothers.
UW Hospital and Clinics is committed to providing accommodations on a case-by-case basis to employees who may work in areas that do not have dedicated lactation space. Our goal is to support working mothers with the worksite assistance they need to balance home and work life.
Cashless Convenience
UW Hospital's Cashless Convenience program allows you to purchase items at hospital food service locations and gift shops by using your employee identification badge. By enrolling in the program, you can avoid having to tote around your wallet or purse when you want a meal or snack, or to buy a gift at hospital locations.
