A series of videos that originally aired live are posted online on uwhealth.org for viewing at your convenience. The series features surgeries, cardiac catheterization lab procedures and specialized programs within UW Health's heart, vascular and thoracic specialties.
Surgeries featured in the videos include implantation of a ventricular assist device (VAD), a video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy (VATS) and an endovascular repair of an aortic aneurysm (filmed live).
In addition to surgical videos, UW Health's Level One Heart Attack Program is highlighted through footage of an actual transfer of a patient experiencing an ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction. UW Health's Med Flight crew, a cardiac interventionalist and UW Hospital's chest pain coordinator also discuss the partnerships that are critical to saving lives through rapid transport and care of patients.
Also in the video series, faculty provide updates and information on UW Health's Preventive Cardiology and Advanced Heart Disease Programs and updates on stem cell research at UW.
