UW Health specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery provide a variety of services for both children and adults. These surgeons offer special expertise in several areas, including hand, microneurovascular, head and neck, breast reconstruction following mastectomy, and craniofacial, maxillofacial, congenital anomaly and dental surgery. Major interests include transplant immunology and limb preservation for transplantation.
Replantation and microsurgery services are available 24 hours a day. Candidates for replantation include patients with clean cut, crush or avulsion amputations of the thumb, finger, major extremities and scalp, facial or penile avulsions and severe hand injuries.
Faculty physicians also provide functional and aesthetic restoration of deformities of the face, head and neck, including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, vascular tumors and maxillofacial trauma.
Laser surgery is available for medical and cosmetic purposes.
