UW Health radiology department uses ablative therapies to treat tumors.
In recent years, there had been a growing interest in ablative therapies as a minimally-invasive way to treat cancerous tumors.
Tumor ablation uses chemical or electrical energy to destroy the cancerous tissue while minimizing damage to normal, healthy tissue. When sugerical resection is not an option for treatment, tumor ablation may be used to treat the cancer.
