Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP)
The following graph represents the percentage of UW Health Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) patients who received all recommended care as compared to the median rate of all University Healthsystem Consortium (UHC) member hospitals.
Recommended care includes:
- The right type of antibiotic was given and discontinued in timely fashion
- Glucose monitoring for cardiac patients
- Safe hair removal from surgical site
- Beta blockers for patients who took them prior to admission
- Urinary catheter removal
- Blood clot prevention
- Body temperature monitoring
