UW Health Physician Opportunities

Hospital Medicine

UW Health offers a qualified roster of hospitalists to care for patients admitted to the hospital with general medical health problems.

UW Health physicians are faculty members of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH), which includes a coinciding appointment with the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation. As such, our doctors enjoy a rewarding clinical practice combined with enriching teaching and research opportunities.

A hospitalist appointment with an academic institution such as the University of Wisconsin means that your employment is twofold: the UWSMPH component of your employment relates to teaching and research, while the UW Medical Foundation component relates to the care of patients.

The section of Hospital Medicine's mission, based on the core values of teamwork, collegiality and service, is to provide excellence in inpatient care through the academic domains of clinical care, education and investigation. Its vision is to achieve national prominence in the field of Hospital Medicine. Our academic structure is comprised of three domains: innovation and investigation, evidence-based clinical enterprises, and knowledge and promotion.
