At the UW Health Pediatric Fitness Clinic, we offer a multi-disciplinary team directed by leading researchers in pediatric obesity and staffed by a team of physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists and registered dieticians. All are committed to providing a comprehensive, research-based approach to improving the health and fitness of your child.

Most health insurance plans cover the evaluation and follow-up visits. Parents interested in the program should contact their insurance provider for benefit information prior to scheduling the first appointment.

Referring Physicians

The goal of the Pediatric Fitness Clinic is to support lifestyle changes that include increased activity and improved nutrition using local resources whenever possible. We work closely with referring physicians to help them stay informed of the progress of their patients while in our care.

About the Clinic

The Pediatric Fitness Clinic is located in Madison, Wisconsin in the UW Health Research Park Clinic.

Monitored exercise sessions are offered in our Sports Medicine Exercise Science Lab. The ultimate goal is to make exercise fun and teach safe and appropriate use of equipment. If deemed appropriate by our exercise physiologists, the child can join a group of peers and enjoy the clinic's interactive exercise options which include Dance Dance Revolution and video GameBikes. This non-threatening social and active portion focuses on fun and is a hit with this generation of video-oriented children.
