The pediatric emergency medicine physicians at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin treat children from birth to 18 years with emergent medical needs.
Our staff is specifically trained to address the unique physical, emotional and development needs of children. Our pediatric emergency room specialists completed a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship and is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.
The pediatric emergency medicine team also includes two Child Life specialists who work exclusively in the emergency room and help patients cope with hospitalization, diagnosis and treatment by using play, conversation and other elements of distraction to promote a positive hospital experience and maintain a sense of normalcy.
Our pediatric emergency medicine program offers child-friendly care that places a premium on communication with the patient and their families. |
