Kids With Courage Reunion: July 5

The University of Wisconsin Pediatric Oncology Division invites all current and former pediatric oncology patients and their families to Kids With Courage IV on July 5, 2008.
 
Every five years, beginning in 1993, our UW Pediatric Oncology Program has hosted an event for children that have received oncology care at UW Children's Hospital, now known as the American
Family Children's Hospital. For this July's event, we wish to recognize all courageous children that have ever been treated for childhood cancer here at UW. Thus, we are inviting all families that have had children treated here for childhood cancer, including those families whose son or daughter did not survive.
 
As such, at our event, we will honor all "Kids With Courage," and reflect on the need for continued progress, while appreciating the advances that have been made. We have been so privileged to care for all of these children.
 
We will again welcome our Honorary Chair Cindy Crawford, who remains a strong supporter of childhood cancer patients and cancer research here in Madison and nationally. We are also excited to welcome special guests:
  • Jon McGlocklin, President of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund
  • Suzy Favor Hamilton, a three-time former Olympian and former University of Wisconsin-Madison track star

For those of you whom have not had the opportunity to visit the new American Family Children's Hospital, there will be an "open house" on Sunday, July 6 from noon-2pm. There is no cost to you or your family for your participation in this event, including breaks, lunch and The Capital Candlelighters Picnic Dinner, thanks to the help of generous donors. However, travel and housing expenses are not provided.
