UW Health's pediatric orthopedic program at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin provides world-class care for children, adolescents and young adults with all types of musculoskeletal disorders.
Our expert team consists of three fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic physicians (two surgeons and a nonoperative specialist) and two dedicated nurse practitioners.
Their clinical expertise is enhanced through robust collaborations with:
- The University of Wisconsin Waisman Center - home to outstanding geneticists, multidisciplinary pediatric clinics, developmental pediatricians and the Midwest Bone Dysplasia Center
- UW Health's adult orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, pediatric anesthesiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and occupational and physical therapists.
Together, they offer a comprehensive set of diagnostic, nonoperative and surgical services for:
- Spinal deformities, including scoliosis, kyphosis and spondylolisthesis
- Neuromuscular disorders, including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy
- Hip disorders, including hip dysplasia, Perthes Disease and slipped capital femoral epiphysis
- Limb disorders, including lower extremity length discrepancy and deformities, upper extremity deformities
and oncological reconstruction - Foot and ankle disorders, including clubfoot, congenital foot deformities and ankle disorders
Outreach Clinics
To increase children's access to specialty care, our pediatric orthopedic surgeons staff monthly outreach clinics in Wisconsin communities. They provide consultative services, coordinating patient care with the community's local physicians and other health care providers.
