Parent-Infant and Early Childhood Program

The Parent-Infant/Early Childhood Program offers specialized services in psychological, developmental and relationship disturbances in children under 6 years of age. Staff work collaboratively with families to identify and address challenges that arise when:
  • Infants and toddlers have trouble regulating sleep, feeding, mood, aggressive behavior, attention and sensory input (e.g., touch, sound, light)
  • Parents are experiencing difficulty with limit-setting for toddlers or feeling bonded or attached to their infant/young child
  • Parents are coping with depression or other psychiatric conditions, marital/relationship conflict, high levels of stress, lack of social support or previous difficulties with parenting (e.g., abuse or neglect)
Services
 
  • Postpartum Depression Treatment Program
  • Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of infant/toddler and parent functioning, including the use of videotaped parent-child interactions for assessment and therapy with patient consent
  • Therapeutic services used individually and in combination including individual, parent-child dyadic and family therapy
  • Medication consultation/referral
  • Training and consultation to identify and treat early parent-child relational disturbances for professionals
