Preparing for Your Appointment

To make the most of your clinic visit, please read below about what you should bring and during your appointment.

Prior Records

If the patient has seen other eye doctors in the past, please arrange to have records from those examinations sent to our clinic prior to your appointment. This is particularly important if eye muscle surgery has been performed. If it is not possible to have records sent to the clinic before your appointment, it is still helpful to bring them with you to your appointment.

Glasses

Bring all glasses to your appointment so our staff can check them.

Contact Lenses

If you usually wear contact lenses, you should wear them to the appointment; however, also bring your glasses. If you want to be fit with contact lenses, or if you are having problems with your current contact lenses, ask the receptionist to also schedule time with our contact lens technician in addition to the eye doctor on the same day as your appointment in our clinic.

Eye medication

If you are currently using eye drops or ointment, or have used these medications in the past two weeks, bring them to your appointment.

Misalignment of Eyes

If you observe a misalignment of your child’s eye in photographs, bring sample photographs to the clinic appointment to show the eye doctor.

Canceling an Appointment

Please provide the clinic with at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so we can offer it to another patient.

Length of Appointments

If this is your fi rst visit to the clinic or is an annual follow-up visit, the examination will include eye drops to dilate your pupils. Please allow two hours for the appointment. Follow-up examinations average between 20 to 60 minutes.
