Arranging Emergency Transport
Med Flight
Critical Care Transport (formerly,
CHETA) is the American Family Children's Hospital
emergency transport ambulance and is a part of our
comprehensive transport program that includes
UW Med Flight. All of these modes of transport provide
the highest level of interfacility transport care available in
the region.
The Critical Care Transport provides a minimum team composition of advanced-trained, PALS-certified pediatric intensive care nurses and pediatric respiratory therapists.
A pediatric critical care fellow or staff physician may accompany the transport team if patient acuity
requires that level of care.

In addition to transport, Med Flight and Critical Care Transport teams are available to provide consultation and training on a variety of topics, including:

- Interpretation of laboratory results

- Equipment training
- Legal and ethical issues
