UW Health Navigator Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Only places that patients are allowed to access unaccompanied are listed on the app. Also, this version of the app only includes the first and second floors of UW Hospital and Clinics.
Do I have to turn on my Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is used to find your initial location. You can chose to turn off Wi-Fi, but if you do so, you will be asked to enter your initial location to get directions.
What if I find a mistake in the app?
If you find errors or have suggestions, please let us know through this form. Please provide a clear description of the issue and the type of device you were using.
Why doesn't the app just tell me to turn left or right?
The routing in the app only allows hints to be added at the end of a step because people can be coming from multiple directions.
Why does the app look different on different devices?
While the functionality of Apple and Android devices are the same in regards to the app, they have different settings which slightly change the appearance of the app.
What does the shading mean?
The shading of the app separates private verses public access, restrooms and elevators/stairs.
Why do I have to manually press through the step-by-step directions?
The app currently requires users to manually step through directions (using the arrow buttons). It is possible that this might be changed in future versions of the app.
Why is my current starting location different from my actual location?
The indoor positioning system at the hospital is designed to be accurate to within approximately 30 feet of your actual starting location.
