UW Health Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine offers WorkCare, a service that provides a streamlined appointment process for the injured worker, assistance with medical records/paperwork and the expertise of University of Wisconsin faculty physicians and staff.
UW Health providers are available to see people with work-related musculoskeletal injuries or conditions that affect work performance or participation.
What is WorkCare?
Our rehabilitation medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons work closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists and athletic trainers to provide injured workers with a coordinated continuum of care. Staff dedicated to the care of injured workers are available to assist with appointment and medical records management, ensuring prompt communication between referral sources, employers and case managers.

Arranging a WorkCare Consult
To arrange a consult, referring providers can call (888) 978-4611 or e-mail orthoaccess@uwhealth.org and indicate that a WorkCare appointment is needed. WorkCare staff will collect patient information and coordinate an appointment.
Patient Appointments and WorkCare
The injured worker should bring any X-rays, MRIs, CT studies or other pertinent reports to the WorkCare appointment.
