The Gift of Life
UW Health Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) is a nationally recognized leader in organ donation. Through your family’s gift of life, you are now a part of that excellence. We are humbled and deeply grateful for your loved one’s legacy.
Through the gift of life, your loved one saved and touched the lives of transplant recipients and their families. With this gift comes a wide array of emotions. From sadness and grief to hope and peace, everyone’s experience is different. As you progress through this difficult time at your own pace, in your own way, it is important to remember that you are not alone. Volunteering
As time passes, some donor families find comfort in sharing their experience with others. We have a large group of volunteers, both donor families and recipients, who help educate the public about the importance of organ donation. This education is done through presentations, staffing event booths, serving on committees and/or working with the media. For more information on these opportunities, contact the UW Health OPO.
