Volunteering for the UW Health Organ Procurement Organization
Contact Information
The UW Health Organ Procurement Organization has a large group of volunteers, both donor families and recipients, who help educate the public about the importance of organ donation.
This team works to educate the public about the importance of organ donation by making community presentations, staffing event booths, serving on committees and/or working with the media.
Volunteer Training
Volunteers go through a brief training program, presented by UW Health Organ Procurement Organization staff. During these sessions, volunteers learn tips for working the public. Donor family members and recipients receive information and assistance as needed for drafting their personal donation experience story. The training sessions are scheduled several times a year.
Volunteering with Dottie Donor Dot
Volunteers are also needed to support the Dottie Donor Dot program. Dottie represents the orange donor dot that Wisconsinites place on their driver’s license or state ID to show they wish to be a donor. Dottie and her team of volunteers work to increase organ, tissue and eye donation in Wisconsin.
Visit Dottie's uwhealth.org page or look her up on Facebook for more information.
