The UW Health Organ Procurement Organization has a large group of volunteers that assist us in our efforts to educate the public about organ donation. Donor families, recipients and/or anyone who is passionate about organ donation and transplantation are welcome to join the volunteer team.

This team works to educate the public about the importance of organ donation by making community presentations, staffing event booths, serving on committees and/or working with the media.

Interested in Volunteering?

Fill out our online form to let us know and specify the volunteer opportunities in which you are interested. Organ Procurement Organization staff will contact you to get you started.

Volunteer Training

Volunteers go through a brief online training program to learn the most recent facts about donation and transplantation, and to study tips for working with the public. Those with a personal connection to donation will receive information and assistance as needed for drafting their personal donation experience story.

Volunteering with Dottie Donor Dot

Volunteers are also needed to support the Dottie Donor Dot program. Dottie represents the orange donor dot that Wisconsinites place on their driver’s license or state ID to show they wish to be a donor. Dottie and her team of volunteers work to increase organ, tissue and eye donation in Wisconsin.
