Organ Donation Education in Driver's Education Classes
Health Professionals
Health Professionals Reference Section
- A video of a classroom presentation: Organ Donation Education in Driver's Education Classes. You may view this to experience how a practiced presenter shares the information in her classrooms, and/or show it to your students to supplement the other materials in this kit.
- A copy of the United Network for Organ Sharing brochure titled Talking about Transplantation, UNOS Facts and Figures (pdf).
- A two-sided informational flyer titled The Truth About Organ Donation (pdf).
- An educational PowerPoint presentation titled Drivers Education Curriculum (ppt).
- Registry Talking Points (pdf), which cover the main issues related to the Wisconsin Donor Registry.
- A Registry FAQ (pdf), which will assist you in answering common questions.
The materials in this kit do not replace a trained presenter or educated instructor. As in the past, the UW Health OPO will be happy to arrange for a volunteer presenter to share this information with your class. However, these teaching tools will give you what you need to properly educate your students on the topic of organ donation on the occasions when a speaker is not available. They also serve as updated information for drivers' education instructors who choose to teach the organ donation session themselves.
If you prefer to receive a hard copy of these materials, a kit will be mailed to you. Request one by contacting the UW Health OPO.
