Swing into the Duranceau Foundation Golf Outing

The sixth annual David Duranceau Memorial Golf Outing will be held on August 7, 2009 at the Thornberry Creek Country Club near Green Bay. The outing is the Foundation's largest fund-raising event.

Last year the event raised $30,000, donating $20,000 to the UW Health Organ Procurement Organization donor education fund. These funds are used to promote organ donation awareness in Wisconsin and are vital to their ongoing education efforts. The Foundation also donated $10,000 to the Restoring Hope Transplant House, a home-away-from home for transplant recipients at UW Hospital and Clinics.

David Duranceau was a life-long diabetic who received a kidney/pancreas transplant in April 2003. Just a few months later, David suffered an intercranial hemorrhage unrelated to his transplant, and was an organ donor. David is the only known recipient who donated both his own and transplanted organs.
