The donor family follow-up program at University of Wisconsin Hospital and
Clinics Organ Procurement Organization includes four contact times between the donor family and the OPO during the 15 months following donation.
Within the First Month
- A phone call from the OPO to check on your family
- Information about your loved one’s donation
- Support materials, including a letter from the OPO Executive Director and a certificate from the Governor of Wisconsin
3-4 Months
- A phone call from the OPO to check on your family
- Information about our online donor tribute service
- A bereavement resources packet
9-10 Months
- A grief support book
15 Months
- A phone call from the OPO to check on your family
- A survey will be sent to you. Your feedback is very important and allows us to better assist other donor families
