Organ Donation Education Events

The UW Health Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) recommends these events as ways to show your support for their mission and help give the gift of life. Several events also assist patients and families affected by kidney failure or tansplantation.

 

October 2011

 

  • Oct. 8 - Dottie at Cottage Grove Fall Festival, Taylor Prairie Elementary School, 900 N Parkview Street, Cottage Grove
  • Oct. 8 - Cycle for Life, a biking event supporting Cystic Fibrosis. Keva Sports Center, 8312 Forsythia Street, Middleton
  • Oct. 8 - KEEP Screening event - Burlington. KEEP® is a free health screening program offered by the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) for adults at increased risk of developing kidney disease. Technical and layperson volunteers needed. View the flier (pdf)
  • Oct. 11 - Ceremony to honor donors, Swedish American Hospital, 10am, hospital Healing Garden
  • Oct. 15 - KEEP Screening event- Milwaukee. KEEP® is a free health screening program offered by the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) for adults at increased risk of developing kidney disease. Technical and layperson volunteers needed. View the flier (pdf)
  • Oct. 15 -  2nd Annual Share Your Parts 5k Run/Walk, in memory of Col. Everett Yoap. 8am sign in, 9am race begins. Marinette High School, Marinette. Registration $20. Registration form (pdf)

January 2012

  • Jan. 28 - Spotlight on Life Gala, Intercontinental Hotel, Milwaukee. A "Dancing with the Stars" type competition featuring celebrity dancers from Wisconsin's Transplant Centers and OPOs.
