Orangetober 2015 Online Donation Promotion Tool Kit
University of Wisconsin Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) asks you to join them for Orangetober 2015, a month-long initiative that aims to register people as organ, tissue and eye donors on the Wisconsin donor registry.
Wisconsin law changed in 2010, making it possible for citizens to legally authorize their donation decision at the DMV or online at DonateLifeWisconsin.org. Since then, almost 3,000,000 people have registered, but because only about 2 percent of people die in a way that allows for donation, every registered donor is needed.
Promote the Gift of Life
Join us in our efforts to educate more people about the gift of life provided by donation, and help us spread the word about the importance of being a legally-registered donor. Use any of the tools in our Orangetober tool kit to join this effort.
Orangetober 2015: Go Orange for Donation
There’s no better time than Orangetober to pull out your favorite orange clothing or accessories to go orange for Orangetober. Let’s get more people talking about registering as a donor. Here are a few ideas of how wearing orange could be a life-saving decision:
- On October 1 (or any day, or better yet, every day in Orangetober), post a photo of yourself wearing something orange on your Facebook or other social media outlets, with this statement: “I’m going orange for #Orangetober! I said yes to donation and wear my donor dot color proudly! Please consider registering at DonateLifeWisconsin.org and then tell your family and friends. Go orange with me and post this on your page, too!”
- Print out an Orangetober logo. It also makes a great Facebook banner.
- Print out any of our other Orangetober tools below, and use them at your hospital, place of employment or on social media.
