Post Void Dribbling Clinical Trial Benefits and Risks

Benefits to Subjects Include

  • Potential treatment of post void dribbling symptoms
  • Potential treatment of unrelated overactive bladder symptoms
  • Participation in the study might benefit other women with post void dribbling in the future

Risks to Subjects Include

  • Side effects from Solifenacin (Vesicare)
    • Dry mouth and constipation are the most common
    • Other common side effects include decreased perspiration, stomach upset, blurred vision and dry eyes
    • Qt wave prolongation and cyp3a4 inhibitors use are warnings at the 10mg dose, but have been deemed safe in prior studies at the 5mg dose. The drug has been clinically available for prescription at both doses in the United States since 2005
  • Some study subjects might experience embarrassment from completing the voiding diaries
