
In honor of EMS Appreciation Week, the UW Health Emergency Education Center will be sponsoring a free event to educate emergency service providers on dealing with gang-related issues.
Featured speakers include:
Detective George Chavez: Detective Chavez has worked in law enforcement for over 23 years and has presented at the International Gang School in Chicago and at the 2009 Gang Summit in Washington, D.C.
Officer Lester Moore: Officer Moore has worked in law enforcement for 10 years and served in the Marine Corps for six. He is the gang officer for the City of Madison and has also worked as a beat officer and neighborhood officer in the City of Madison's most challenged areas.


The ACLS experienced provider course is for seasoned ACLS providers who wish to renew their provider status. This course provides a stimulus for clinicians and scientists to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. More in-depth information and advanced techniques are demonstrated and special situations involving emergency resuscitation is discussed.
The Olympics are Coming – to the Wisconsin Dells

Rally a team from your service and prepare for the EMS Olympics sponsored by the UW Health Emergency Education Center. The Olympics take place on June 25 during the UW Trauma Symposium, which will be held this year at The Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Competition is available for all skill levels of emergency providers to measure competencies in a variety of emergency situations.
University of Wisconsin Emergency Care and Trauma Symposium
The annual Emergency Care and Trauma Symposium is June 24-26, 2009 at the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The symposium offers unique sessions delivered by experts researching and working in the field of trauma and emergency medicine.
EMS Appreciation Lunch May 21
Stop by the UW Health Emergency Education Center on Thursday, May 21 from 11am-1pm. We'll again be hosting a free outdoor barbeque in the parking lot.
