UW Health Palmyra Clinic to Close
MADISON - The UW Health Palmyra Clinic will close effective Sept. 30.
Dr. Brett Wilson has decided to retire from his practice at the UW Health Palmyra Clinic as of that date. Wilson will continue to help out the local UW Health clinics as needed.
UW Health will not be recruiting for a replacement for Wilson at the UW Health Palmyra Clinic.
Dr. Shauna Meyer discontinued seeing patients at the UW Health Palmyra Clinic on June 30. She will continue to practice at the UW Health Fort Atkinson Clinic and has transferred her Palmyra patients' care to the Fort Atkinson location.
"Like many health care organizations, we are facing the nationwide problem of recruiting primary care physicians in rural areas," says Dr. Richard Welnick, medical director of ambulatory clinic operations for the UW Medical Foundation. "It is always very difficult to make a decision that results in significant change for our patients."
Patients of the UW Health Palmyra Clinic will be notified of the changes by mail. Patients who have questions or concerns can call UW Health Welcome Center at (800) 552-4255.
