UW Health Nurse-Midwifery Program Celebrates Anniversary

UW Health Nurse-Midwifery program: BabyMadison, Wisconsin – Mothers and their children born with the support of the UW Health Nurse-Midwives will gather Sunday, June 26 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the program.

 

A reception will be held at the Goodman Center in Madison. More than 80 parents and children who were born with the assistance of midwives will get together to reminisce about their experiences.

 

Midwives are registered nurses who provide individualized care to expectant mothers throughout pregnancy, labor and postpartum period, and collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists and other medical professionals.

 

They also offer routine physical exams and health assessments from the teenager years through menopause.
