MADISON-Tour de Touchdown, last month's relay-style bicycle ride involving nine members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the UW campus, earned $12,500 to benefit American Family Children's Hospital.
The bike riders spent nearly three days riding 150 miles from Madison to Evanston, IL before the Badgers' football game at Northwestern.
During the ride, they carried a football autographed by Head Coach Bret Bielema, who received it before the Nov. 21 kickoff.
Two of the bike riders are Wisconsin natives: Ben Beckwith of Middleton and Kenny Jones of Delavan.
This marked the 16th year Sigma Phi Epsilon has participated in Tour De Touchdown. In that time, the event has raised more than $100,000 for American Family Children's Hospital's Child Life programs, which include games and other activities to relieve the stress of hospitalization for patients and families.
