Radiothon to Benefit American Family Children's Hospital

Tammy Lee and John Flint during the 2010 Radiothon at American Family Children's HospitalMadison, Wisconsin - Compelling stories of children who are being treated for - or have survived - serious medical conditions will be the focus of the Champions for Kids Radiothon to benefit American Family Children's Hospital.

 

John Flint and Tammy Lee, morning air personalities at Madison's 96.3 Star Country (96.3 FM) again will be the primary hosts of the 39-hour event 6am to 7pm each day May 4-6 in the hospital lobby, 1675 Highland Ave.

 

This is the third straight year John and Tammy have hosted Radiothon. The broadcast may also be heard on the Web at wmad.com.

 

This year, Madison radio personalities from other stations will participate in Radiothon and broadcast at a separate location in the hospital for their listeners:

  • Katie Kruz of Z-104 (104.1 FM) Wednesday, May 4 from 10am-noon
  • Van Edwards of WIBA-FM (101.5 FM) Thursday, May 5 from 10am-1pm
  • Brian Posick of The Big 1070 (1070 AM) Thursday, May 5 from 2-6pm
  • Mitch Henck of WIBA-AM (1310 AM) Friday, May 6 from 8-11am

The broadcasts will include stories of children and families from Wisconsin and surrounding states who beat the odds against cancer, heart disease, traumatic injuries and other medical conditions.

 

Donations will be accepted online or by calling (877) 719-KIDS. Last year's Radiothon raised more than $475,000 for the hospital.

 

American Family Children's Hospital is a complete children's medical and surgical center with a pediatric intensive care unit, an internationally recognized transplant surgery program, a children’s cancer center and a family-friendly atmosphere.
