Pain Program Honored by American Pain Society

MADISON - UW Health Pain Care Services won an honorable mention last week from the American Pain Society's first-ever Clinical Centers of Excellence program. The award designates the UW Health service as a top-quality provider of pain care in a range of settings.

 

UW Health is one of eight multidisciplinary pain services nationally recognized with honorable mentions. Multidisciplinary centers use a team of professionals with varying backgrounds to help patients reduce their pain, improve function and boost quality of life.

 

"Pain care has finally become a national priority," notes Nathan Rudin, MD, medical director of the UW Health Pain Treatment and Research Center. "UW Health has been a leader in pain treatment and advocacy for many years. This honor reflects our commitment that every patient deserves the best possible treatment for pain, whether chronic or acute."
