New Belleville Family Medical Clinic to Open Oct. 3
MADISON - UW Health Belleville Family Medicine clinic at 1121 BellWest Boulevard in Belleville opened on October 3, 2011.
The 21,000-square-foot facility will offer family medicine primary care providers, a laboratory, X-rays, health and nutrition education and group classes, and a healing garden, which offers a comforting atmosphere for patients.
"We are very excited about opening this state-of-the-art family medicine clinic for the citizens of Belleville and surrounding communities," said Dr. Stephen Olcott, the clinic's medical director and clinical assistant professor of family medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. "We look forward to continuing and building upon the excellent care Belleville Family Medicine has provided over the past 30 years."
Environmentally-friendly building concepts were used in pursuit of certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, a prestigious honor for environmentally-friendly construction, offered by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Vogel Brothers Building Co. of Madison is the contractor on the project. Local business owners Rick and Ed Francois donated the land where construction will take place.
The current UW Health Belleville Family Medical Clinic has 29 total employees, 14 of them providers including residents. They will move to the new building, and additional employees and providers may be added in the future.
The public is invited to a formal ribbon cutting and open house Sunday, November 13 from noon to 4pm.
