Love Lights to Support UW Hospital and Clinics Patient Programs Now on Sale
Love Lights 2012
MADISON - Each year, Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics, Inc., offers Love Lights as a special way to honor and remember loved ones through the sale of blue and white lights that adorn trees outside the main entrances of UW Hospital and Clinics.
Love Lights are now available for purchase online at the Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics website. White lights (in memory of) and red lights (in honor of) can be purchased for a donation of $5 per light, $10 for three lights or $100 for a strand.
The deadline for ordering Love Lights is Sunday, December 1.
All Love Lights will be strung on an evergreen outside the Health Sciences Learning Center (adjacent to the UW Hospital and Clinics) and then lit during the annual tree lighting ceremony December 9 to which all donors and their guest are invited to attend.
The first Love Lights campaign was held in 1998. In its history, Love Lights has raised more than $175,000.
The funds will benefit patients and families at UW Hospital and Clinics and American Family Children's Hospital with programs including housing assistance and food and transportation to patients who must travel long distances for care; wigs for cancer patients; and supporting improvements to make UW Hospital and Clinics waiting areas more pleasant.
