Highland Ave. Construction Affects UW Hospital Visitors

Madison, Wisconsin - Road construction at Highland Avenue near UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison will affect traffic and likely result in increased congestion, particularly during rush hours, through November, 2013.

Construction projects will reduce the number of available lanes from four to two on Highland Avenue's eastern leg, but one lane in each direction will be open at all times:

  • September 3: Southbound lanes closed
  • Mid-October: Northbound lanes closed and traffic switched over to the southbound lanes
  • November 30: Work anticipated to be completed

During peak times, significant delays are anticipated. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid delay during this project.

For the most current information and dates of impact, please view the University of Wisconsin Transportation Services Street Closures and Detours map.

If you have special parking needs or if you have other questions, please contact Transportation Services at customerservice@fpm.wisc.edu or (608) 263-6667.
