Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics Present Dare to Dream
MADISON - The son of the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest will share inspirational stories about overcoming challenges at the Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics Dare to Dream Gala on Saturday, February 6 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison.
Peter Hillary, an accomplished mountaineer, is highly regarded for more than 40 expeditions including climbs of the world’s most towering and infamous mountains. He is the son of Sir Edmund Hillary, who in 1953 was the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest with climbing partner Tenzing Norgay.
The Dare to Dream Gala is a fundraiser with proceeds to benefit American Family Children's Hospital. Individual tickets are $150 and tables for eight may be purchased for $1,200.
The gala will include an evening filled with live entertainment and silent and live auctions. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, dessert and coffee will be served.
The highlight of the evening will be Hillary's lively presentation about various expeditions and harrowing experiences that provide inspirational lessons about overcoming challenges.
