three womenUW Health certified nurse-midwife services extend beyond pregnancy and birth to include routine physical exams and health assessments from the teenage years through menopause.
 
Nurse-midwives emphasize health promotion, education and disease prevention.
 
For maternity clients, nurse-midwives provide individualized care and attendance throughout pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period. UW Health nurse-midwives have completed their Master's degrees and are skilled at recognizing risk factors requiring consultation or referral to obstetricians or other specialists.

As part of the network of UW Health, certified nurse-midwives practice in collaboration with obstetricians, gynecologists and other members of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Perimenopausal and postmenopausal consultations, with additional counseling on the symptoms that may develop during this transition
