Family Planning
In addition to providing maternity care and attendance throughout pregnancy, UW Health's certified nurse-midwives also provide contraceptive counseling and family planning services, including:
- Prescriptions for oral contraceptive pills, IUD insertions and removals, insertion and removal of hormone releasing birth control implants
- Discussion of health benefits, as well as risks
- Individualized explanations and management of all birth control options
