Arranging Emergency Transport

UW Health Med Flight helicopterUW Med Flight is dedicated to serving the public as an aero-medical extension of the UW Health system.

We are available 24 hours a day, every day, to provide care and transport to critically ill or injured patients from a 250-mile radius in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota.

History

Established in 1985, UW Med Flight has been providing expert medical care for more than 25 years, logging over 25,000 flights as one of only a few air medical services in the country with a physician on board.

Missions

Our missions are as varied as the services available at UW Health. UW Med Flight helps EMS providers evacuate critically-injured patients from accident sites to bring them to UW Hospital's Level One Trauma Center. We also transport patients to UW Health's Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Care program, Burn Center, and deliver organs or organ recipients for UW Health's Transplant program. In addition, UW Med Flight provides transportation for regional neonatal transport teams.

Medical providers across the region trust UW Med Flight to deliver safe, effective and expert air medical care. We work hard to ensure that each and every patient is not only able to survive, but thrive.
