After Your Surgery
Transformations Surgery Center, Inc.
Post-Op Care and Communications
After your procedure at Transformations Surgery Center, Inc., your surgeon will speak with your driver, friend or family member, informing him or her of the outcome of your procedure.
You will be taken to our recovery area, where you will be reunited with your driver, friend or family member. This person will be involved in your post-operative education and care, facilitating safe and efficient discharge from our facility.
You will be evaluated prior to discharge to determine that you are ready to leave the Transformations Surgery Center, Inc. Before you are discharged, a nurse will give you written home care instructions and review them with your driver, friend or family member.
If your surgeon gives you a prescription for pain medications at your pre-op visit, please have the prescription filled and bring it with you the day of surgery.
Even though you are awake more quickly after ambulatory surgery, you may feel drowsy for 24-48 hours after surgery. Your coordination may also be affected.
For your safety:
- Do not drive a car or operate hazardous machinery
- Do not drink alcohol
- Do not take any medication unless prescribed by a health care provider and approved by your surgeon
Important decisions should be delayed until you have made a complete recovery. You should plan to go home immediately from the recovery area and rest for the remainder of the day with a responsible adult to assist you.
